I have not posted for some time ,simply because I have been engrossed in what everyone on and off the web states is an absolute must, Social Networking.
I have joined facebook stated learning how to twitter and gather some following ,recently put my toe into my space.
I have even entered into the world of "Word Of Mouth" social networks like SWOM.
On the making money front I have looked at at least a hundred or so affiliate programs from the big boys like Clickbank and Amazon to other less well known such as promote for pennies!
Cranial explosion is eminent due to information overload!
I am now inundated with offers from Internet marketing gurus of all shapes and sizes from the extremely well known to totally obscure ,well at least to me.
All of whom offer some ready made off the shelve programme, package ,system or secret that will transform your/my financial life instantly or in the next 12 to 24 months with blood sweat and tears,oh and lots of your money to pay for the privilege of accessing their hard earned knowledge and experience.
An annoying feature of the "offers" is they start out with the tempting morsel of "FREE" and then once you succumb and enter your email address,you are immediately transported to the "Sales Pitch" buy now , time limited discount, or offer closes after such and such a date or length of time.
Affiliate programs also suffer from this free-iatise syndrome, you sign up for free and then are immediately informed that to access or benefit from all the bells and whistles of the programme you need to upgrade (payment of money usually on a monthly basis) to avail of the huge earning potential.
Now although a lot of what I have experienced has been negative ,annoying and nothing short of blatant manipulation of fundamental human traits of curiosity ,greed and laziness in wanting a quick "change your Life solution , similar to modern societies perchance for the "quick cure all Pill or treatment , there has been a surprising benefit.
The one which I believe underlies the core ideal and function of "Social Media" our need as human beings to connect and form groups with others, a basic clanning instinct for safety ,security and the benefit which is most of all toted by the "GET RICH GURUS" "LEVERAGE".
Indeed a group working together has mutual advantages for each member ,but also more for some members than others, those elevated to "Leadership status".
I have found really interesting people and groups whilst indulging in social networking, some who have challenged my views and opinions others who have inspired and motivated me when I have been feeling down and some exceptional individuals who have contributed to my personal growth.
So my only concern indeed fear is that like the old saying that sometimes you "can't see the wood for the trees" is that in the blind pursuit of money using social media ,people ,i.e we will lose sight of its core essential
of linking and bringing together diverse individuals groups ,cultures and perhaps as fanciful as it might sound even countries.
